FAQ
Have questions about my services? Don’t hesitate to send me an email or text, I’d love to chat.
Do you have payment plans?
Yes! I know money can be tight. If you need a payment plan just ask and we can create a plan that works.
Do you have subsidised fees?
If you are really in need of a doula and can’t make it work financially please email. I provide fees on a sliding scale and we can make arrangements so you have the doula support you need.
I have a partner why do I need a doula?
Four hands are better than two. I am not there to replace your partner but to help them learn how to better support you. I can help your partner by showing them different positions and comfort measures to use on you, reminding them of your birth wishes and checking in on their emotional needs. If your partner needs a break I am there for you while they meet their needs. If they are overwhelmed with the situation or unsure how to help if something doesn’t go as you hoped, I can be there to reassure and guide them. I want to make your partner shine in you eyes.
I have a midwife why do I need a doula?
Your midwife is an amazing medical practitioner. During labour and birth their main focus is on keeping you and baby safe and watching for any potential issues. A doula does not have the medical side of birth to be thinking of and can focus solely on your emotional and physical needs. A midwife also will usually wait to arrive until active labour has start and end care around 6 weeks postpartum, where as a doula can be there to help your through early labour all the way to a couple years postpartum.
My benefit plan covers Dietitians, can I use that to pay for my doula services?
Unfortunately you cannot. My dietitian hat and doula hat are separate services. I cannot charge doula services as dietetic services. If you would like nutrition counselling in addition to your doula services we can make separate appointments for that.
